Close to Home: Michael Magee in conversation

11th October 2023 – 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

£4.00 – £6.50

Close to Home is the exceptional debut novel from Michael Magee. It has attracted stellar reviews from writers and critics for its intimate and powerful account of class and masculinity set in Michael’s hometown of Belfast. Join the critically acclaimed author in conversation with Dr Eamonn Hughes, Senior Lecturer in the School of English (QUB).

‘A vision of post-conflict Belfast that didn’t deliver what it promised, blighted by poverty and memory. But far from bleak, I laughed out loud many times. And it is full of love.’
– Louise Kennedy, author of Trespasses.

Copies of the book will be available to buy on the evening of this event.
