Ciara O’Neill

24th May – 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

£15.00

The Linen Hall and Women’s Work are delighted to launch the brand-new EP Woman by Belfast-based folk singer-songwriter Ciara O’Neill. It is the much-anticipated follow-up to her last EP, which saw her single ‘La Lune’ top the BBC Radio Ulster and RTÉ Radio 1 airplay charts and led to her subsequent RTÉ Radio 1 Folk Award nomination. O’Neill’s music is defined by the perfection of her voice and by heartfelt crafted lyricism that never shies away from emotions that are both uncomfortable and universal. This new EP, Woman, is an exploration of
the beauty and complexities of being a woman in modern society.

Looking at herself, her own female relatives and those women in history who have lived lives in the shadows, O’Neill writes about
having a desire for more, not feeling the need to conform to expectations placed on women and having the courage to be visible. Join us for an evening of music and poetry!

About Ciara O’Neill

RTÉ Radio1 Folk Award nominee Ciara O’Neill is no stranger to the stages of Northern Ireland and beyond. Hailing from Co Armagh and now based in Belfast, she has written with Grammy winning songwriters, performed to a US TV audience of 60 million and showcased her music throughout the US, Canada and Europe. Fresh off the release of her acclaimed EP ‘La Lune’ (2022) Ciara’s music has topped the airplay charts of BBC Radio Ulster and RTÉ Radio1 and she received a nomination for Best Emerging Artist at the 2022 RTÉ Radio1 Folk Awards. As well as selling out several shows for the Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival and Sound of Belfast she recently represented Belfast during a UNESCO city of music trip to London, Ontario where she played the main stage of Home County Music and Arts Festival. The momentum only continues in 2024 with the release of her brand new EP ‘Woman’ supported by the prestigious PRS Foundation ‘Women Make Music’ fund.
