Join Our Journey Towards Peace
The Linen Hall Library is both an historic resource and a powerful force for innovation and change in the cultural and creative life of Northern Ireland. Now, at a time of transition from conflict, we face the biggest challenge of our two hundred year history: to help our society navigate its way through as yet uncharted waters to a firm and lasting peace.
We invite you, whether as an individual or in a corporate capacity, to join us on that journey as an American Friend of the Linen Hall Library.
The American Friends will help us to live up to the high expectations we have of ourselves, and to fulfil the hopes that many of you have for Northern Ireland and Ireland as a whole. It will enable us to strengthen our links with like-minded spirits in the United States, whether by providing increased access to resources, or by mutually beneficial interchange.
The American Friends of the Linen Hall Library
The American Friends of the Linen Hall Library is linked to the United States based Linen Hall Library Foundation,which is a 501(c)(3) organisation.
Your donation will reflect your personal affinity with your chosen area of the Library's work - you choose!
We promise to keep you updated on the activities of the Library and of the American Friends, whether in Ireland or in the United States by e-mail and mail.

Corporate Friend / Founder Circle
A one-off opportunity to place your organisation at the heart of this initiative. Places are offered on an exclusive basis (limited to ten places):
- Invitations to ' Founder Circle' events.
- Special previews and receptions for you and your associates at events
- The opportunity to meet with key Linen Hall personnel, distinguished guest speakers, and other guests of honour at events.
- Your corporate logo and 150 words of support on the Linen Hall Library website with link to your own site.
- Your logo displayed at future events in the United States.
- First refusal opportunity to act as a lead sponsor for a proposed American Friends events
- A premium service in respect of enquiries made from the United States to the Library
- Special support programmes arranged for you, and any of your corporate associates, in the event of your visiting Belfast, in addition to full access to the services of the Library.

Corporate Friend
- Invitations for you and your associates to all events organised in the United States by the Library and the American Friends
- The opportunity to meet with Linen Hall personnel, distinguished guest speakers, and other guests of honour at events.
- Opportunity to assist in sponsoring a proposed American Friends events
- A premium service in respect of enquiries made from the United States to the Library
- Facilities provided for you, and any of your corporate associates, in the event of your visiting Belfast.

Individual Friend / Founder Circle
This is a one-off opportunity for individuals to offer a particular vote of confidence and support for the wider development of the American Friends of the Linen Hall Library. We offer this on an exclusive basis - only 10 places available.
- Invitations to ' Founder Circle' events.
- The opportunity to meet with distinguished guest speakers, and other guests of honour at events.
- Meetings with key Linen Hall personnel to keep you abreast of our plans.
- A premium service in respect of enquiries made from the United States to the Library.
- Special assistance provided to you and your friends in the event of your visiting Belfast, including full access to Linen Hall Library facilities.
- 10% discount on all goods and services purchased in the Library or via the Library's website.
